Institution Innovation Council
DCRUST successfully established Institute Innovation Council (IIC) as per the norms and directives of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Institution Innovation Council, DCRUST was constituted by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Rajender Kumar Anayath and Prof. (Dr.) Ashok K. Sharma from Material Science & Nanotechnology was appointed as President of Institution Innovation Council. Along with him, Dr. Pawan Dahiya from Electronics & Comm. Engg. and Mr. Sachin Dass from Civil Engg. were appointed as Convener and Coordinator respectively. Mr. Naman from Electrical Engg. was chosen as Student Coordinator of IIC. Union HRD Minister Shri. Prakash Javadekar launched the ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) program under Innovation cell of MHRD at All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) headquarters in New Delhi on 21st November, 2018.
About MHRD’s Innovation Cell
To promote innovation across Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), MHRD’s Innovation Cell is institutionalizing Innovation Councils (IICs) across selected Higher Educational Institutions. Through ‘Institution Innovation Council’ is to achieve the vision to promote innovation in young students by encouraging, inspiring and nurturing them to work with new innovative ideas through periodic activities related to innovation and entrepreneurship. A network of these IICs will be established for the development of innovation eco-system in these campuses. Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs) are constituted in more than 1000 higher educational institutions to promote innovation.
Ministry of HRD has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell’ with the mandate to work closely with our Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to encourage the creative energy of our student population to work on new ideas and innovation and promote them to create start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures.
MIC will focus on creating complete ecosystem which will foster the culture of Innovation across all educational institutions from ideas generation to pre-incubation, incubation and graduating from the incubator as successful start-ups. MIC will also work on designing ranking system to identify institutions in the forefront of innovation.
MIC will actively engage various central and state agencies to ensure that dedicated budget is allocated for innovation related activities.
